French Wash

Porter’s French wash creates a subtle, yet elegant marble-like finish discovered by European painting masters centuries ago. French wash looks beautiful in both traditional style homes with a French provincial feel, and in contemporary-style monochrome spaces where the texture adds interest and depth to the room.

This elegant, timeless ragged effect is traditionally created using two (or more) contrasting colours to add dimension and texture to your walls.

Interno Lime wash

Porters Interno Lime Wash is a unique lime based coating designed for interior use. It replicates the soft weathered patina of a traditional exterior lime wash formulation allowing the lime to gently ‘bloom’ through the paint.

Interno’s Lime wash distinctive character creates soft tone variations to add depth and natural appearance and lends itself easily to any decorating style – especially a Mediterranean look without the necessity of exposure to the elements.

The natural matt surface can be over-coated with a matt wall sealer for extra protection, and to create a wipeable finish.

  • What are our preparation standards?

    Preparation is the key to a great finish. The emphasis on preparation is to ensure maximum adhesion of subsequent layers and presenting an aesthetically pleasing surface for painting and effective waterproofing.

    Here is a summary of some of the key points:

    • All adjacent areas and furnishings will be properly protected
    • All surfaces will be correctly prepared by cleaning, sanding, failed coatings removed, holes filled and cracks caulked
    • Mould, rust, water stains and damage will be sealed and repaired
    • Top Coat generally uses a 3-coat system being a full undercoat and 2 finish coats
    • Where possible Top Coat uses the Festool sanding system with vacuum attached to remove 99.99% of dust. We hate dust!

    Finally we note there will always be some customisation required for each project and we will adapt as needed without compromising quality.

  • What about accreditation and warranties?

    Topcoat is a Dulux Accredited Painter. We are a Porters Paints Guild member. Entry into these Programs are strictly by invitation only.

    Top Coat is certified and trusted by Dulux and recommends and uses quality Dulux paint. The Dulux brand includes Porters Paints, Intergrain, Feast Watson, Cabots, Dulux AcraTex, Selleys and many more.

    All Dulux Accredited Painters have professional painting licences and public liability insurance (independently verified annually by Ebix Trades Monitor). They also offer their own 5 Year Painter’s Workmanship Warranty on residential paint projects*
